An ICHM working group recently completed a new five year sustainability plan that was approved at the September Board of Directors meeting. Key among its recommendations are organizational changes and deployment of new marketing and website strategies. The plan calls for ICHM to develop and train a team of faith and health ambassadors. These volunteers will be responsible for setting up community support groups, organizing benefit awareness and fundraising events and developing sponsors and partnerships within the faith and health community. ICHM will develop a community web portal to promote parish nursing community support, fundraising events and discussions about faith and health.
Most recently, ICHM, in partnership with World Vision, has been approved for involvement in World Vision’s FreeForm program. This program grew from World Vision’s desire to see the leadership teams of Christian community-based organizations equipped to maximize their organization’s potential in fulfilling their mission. The program offers key strategies and tools necessary to manage and lead non-profit organizations within a constantly changing environment. ICHM is extremely delighted to be part of this process to help the organization in developing capacities in several areas: leadership team, systems, financial, and human resource.
